Laser light therapy has been a very effective procedure to ease the symptoms of many vein issues. Laser light therapy uses a specialized device to apply laser energy and/or light to the treatment area. This procedure is very effective in reducing unsightly veins, especially in the facial area.
Laser light therapy can be used to treat or eliminate varicose and spider veins. Essentially, the laser energy is directed at the vein to eliminate them permanently. It can take several treatment sessions to completely eliminate the veins. While laser light therapy is very effective for spider veins, other treatments and procedures, such as sclerotherapy, may be needed as an additional treatment for more serious vein issues.
Other Conditions That Can Be Treated with Laser Light Therapy
Overall, laser light therapy has several other conditions where this procedure can be effective, including:
• Broken capillaries — LLT can be effective in treaty unsightly blood vessels and capillaries on the face
• Rosacea, lesions, sun damage
• Acne — Laser light treatments are considered one of the most effective remedies for those suffering from acne and acne scarring.
• Birthmarks and tattoos — Laser light therapy can efficiently and effectively remove both birthmarks and tattoos.
The Procedure
Laser light therapy is a non-invasive, minimally painful procedure. You may experience a feeling that some have described as the snapping of a rubber band against your skin. Often, a topical anesthetic is applied to the treatment area to further reduce the possibility of pain.
You may not see any changes until several weeks after the initial treatment. As was previously stated, it may take several sessions or treatments for the full results to be experienced.
Right after the treatment, you may experience some pinkness or redness in the treatment area. You may also experience a minor stinging sensation similar to a sunburn, along with mild swelling. All of these side effects should resolve themselves within a few days.
